Firmly In the Rooster Camp (2007-10-04)
I have talked to quite a number of people who have seen the Matrix. There is a Rooster camp and a Pig camp. There is no middle ground. There are no Cows to be found. The Rooster camp is larger than then Pig camp, but it doesn't stop the Pig's from throwing stones.
What I found in common among those that did not like the movie (the Pigs) is that they just didn't like Science Fiction or they didn't understand what was going on in the movie or both. The lesson here is that if you don't like SciFi or if you are easily confused, you won't like the Matrix.
Ira loved the Matrix so much he went to see it again with me. It was a pleasure to watch his tanned old face light up as Keanu Reaves did feats that were only possible in a virtual world. The Matrix was slick, the actors were cool and the story was compelling.
I am firmly in the Rooster camp on this one.

WOW!! One of the Best EVER! (2007-10-04)
Wow!!! As my granddaughter Ellie would say, 'this movie rocks!' Talk about eye-popping science fiction. The Matrix is the best Sci-fi movie in years. It combines a wonderful plot with fantastic special effects and breathtaking pace. I played hooky from cleaning the cowshed to hit this movie and it was well worth the price of admission.
I don't want to give the story away, but The Matrix is about reality and how our minds can be tricked. Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne play a couple of cool customers fighting to save the human race from the computers that have taken over the world. The Matrix offers a F/X extravaganza and keeps you glued to the screen for over two hours. I really enjoyed the slow-motion action and the helicopter scene was fabulous.
When I returned to my chore of cleaning the shed, I wondered if I could kick some butt in the future. Two broken brooms, a dented pail and a bruised toe later, I decided that I may be one tough cookie. Nobody messes with Ira in his cowshed.
This rooster will wake you up, slap water in your face and kick you out the door. Don't miss it!
