Not Romatic Drivel (2007-10-04)

know that it is not often that a rugged individual like myself admits to liking romantic movies, but I do. Not any romantic drivel mind you, but an attractive woman, an intelligent man, and a clever story ring my bell. Or in this case, make me crow. You've Got Mail is the third pairing of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks and they were all fun, but this one was the best. One of the things that I found facinating about the movie was it was one of the first that technology was treated as a part of every day life. In most movies, technology's portrayal is at best exagerated and at worst ridiculous. You've Got Mail showed how simple technology like e-mail has changed they way we live in a powerful and profound way. You real men out there, grab your gal and go see You've Got Mail. It's clever enough that you'll enjoy it even if you don't have a romantic bone in your body. Your gal will think you're sensitive and maybe make the whole experience worthwhile for you. It's worth a try.
