A Rooster!

Only One Bad Apple (2007-10-01)

I really like Waldorf salad. I love the apples, and the celery, and the little marshmallows and the bananas. I even like the nuts. But sometimes, it doesn’t work. Sometimes there is a bad apple. The apple is soft, not crunchy, and has a slight bitter taste, and though the rest of the salad looks wonderful, that bad apple can ruin it. The Thomas Crown Affair is a good-looking salad. The remake starring Pierce Brosnen is a tasty dish. The story mixes together well, with crunchy dialog and chewy visual effects. This story of a multi-millionaire, who is also a thief, plays well to the masses, like a good salad should. And even though we have eaten the same fare before, this has a couple sweet little marshmallow surprises that keep us coming back for seconds. I enjoyed most of it. Faye Dunaway has a great cameo. The Thomas Crown Affair has a bad apple. Rene Russo ruins the movie for me, as she does most movies she appears in. Having her traipse around without any clothes did not help the situation. Peeling the skin of the apple does not make it taste better. Miss Russo overplays every part. I could barely stomach her in the Lethal Weapon series and she absolutely wrecked Tin Cup for me. I’m sorry, but that’s my take on the matter. The salad overall was good, very good, but the bad apple made me leave with a sour taste in my mouth. But, bad apple and all, it was still a fun, delightful movie and I would just push the soft, peeled, old rancid apple aside and enjoy the salad.

Full of Twists (2007-10-01)

Don't let anyone tell you much about this movie before you see it. Close your eyes if a preview is shown. Plug your ears and sing the Star Spangled Banner if someone tries to tell you how it ends. My own dear mother is often guilty of this crime. She is the type that reads the end of books to be sure she likes how it comes out before she commits to reading the story. Mother will say little things like "you'll like this one, it ends very happily" or "its a grand story, but the ending is very sad." Who wants to read the book or watch the movie after hearing that! The Thomas Crown Affair is full of twists right up to the end. Some of them knocked me out of my seat. I never saw the original movie, but this is the one to see first (I'll probably go rent the original now). It is a Rooster.

A Rooster! LOVE This Movie (2008-09-02)

This movie is excellent. Piece Brosnan is one of my favorite actors and he was fantastic with Rene Russo. Loved it! (More)

A Cow An Affair To, Um, Forget... (2008-08-27)

Pierce Brosnan has this endearing sensuality that draws you to him, no matter what role he's playing. I'm a man and I can admit that without hesitation. That factor is really the only thing that... (More)

A Rooster! Exciting and Sexy (2008-04-02)

This is actually a story retold, and a better version of the original, in my opinion. A sexy acquisitions tycoon (Pierce Brosnan), a beautiful bounty hunter (Rene Russo) and a NY detective (Denis... (More)
