A Rooster!

A Double Hanky Movie (2007-12-11)

There are some that say that my hearing is going, but I've always felt my hearing was fine; it was my understanding that was suffering. As a result I can't abide folks talking through movies. This creates a bit of conflict when I think about watching movies with Betsy Gibberman. On one hand, she likes to snuggle and her hair always smells nice. On the other hand, she WILL make comments throughout the movie.

My solution is to pick a foreign film when I invite her over. She can jabber away and I can still read the subtitles and not miss any of the dialog. You can even get the inflection of their voice and still tell whether the actor was angry, sad, or excited even when Betsy says "Why did he do that?" for the 12th time.

The other thing about foreign films is that they generally don't make it to the US unless they have something going for them. "After the Wedding" is no exception. It's an excellent movie that has twists and turns that keep you interested and drama that will zip you up and down the emotional roller coaster.

You can't say much about the story without giving it away. Watch the movie, blubber like a baby, and then crow like a rooster.
