A+ All the Way (2007-10-01)

A meteor is hurtling at the earth. It is a planet-killer. It will destroy everything on the planet. (Could you pass me a Milk dud?) The mountains will tumble to the sea. The sky will fall. Goodbye to everything on earth. No more re-runs of the Waltons, no more gas station restrooms, no more little pieces of walnut that sneak past the cook in banana nut bread and break a filling. No, the world is over, unless Bruce Willis can save us. Your call? Whew! That was close. Thank goodness that a few choice meteor chips slipped past the atmosphere and took out a few landmarks and a walnut or two. The summer blockbuster is back. Bigger, better and funnier. Armageddon MUST be watched in a theater. A video of this film will bust out of your television. I loved this movie. Action, laughs, science fiction, space, Bruce Willis. A+ all the way. This is the kind of movie that brings tears of joy to my eyes. Not the tears of joy that I got when my children moved out, or the tears of happiness when Gomer inherited the pig farm instead of Bunny. No, these were tears of movie joy. Pure escapism. No weeds. No cows to milk. No hay bales to load. And thankfully, no more banana nut bread. Just pure movie fun. This is what going to the movies is all about. Excellent. Cock-a-doodle-doooooo! Rooster!

It Has It All (2007-10-01)

When you watch Armageddon, you won't care whether or not the movie is believable, you will simply sit on the edge of your seat and hope they will save the earth on time. We all have a lot of heart strings that can be pulled. Bravery. Love. Ingenuity. Loyalty. Armageddon will pull them all. I never doubted for a minute how it would end, but it kept me riveted. Cock-a-doddle-doo!
